This plaster Dolphin table base is a work in progress to repair it and make it better than new. The complete tail was totally cracked off. In addition there were several lesser but major repairs to be made. At the stage seen here the first round of repairs have completed the "rough repair" stage.

The tail and body were power hammer drilled to accept a length of 3/8 inch concrete rebar. The hole was injected with Industrial Strength Structural Adhesive using a dual cartridge epoxy mixing gun. The rebar inserted and the parts held in place with tape. This adhesive was allowed to set up and cure for several days. Then the plaster was chipped away on both sides of the bonded fracture. A fresh layer of plaster was applied to all repair areas. The Dolphin plaster sculpture is now at the stage of final plaster and shaping. Once the plastering is complete and cured this piece with be sealed and painted.
